My '07 BMW 1200GS riding buddy recently purchased an '85 VT1100 with 18,000 km in very good condition... and one day we paid him a visit.
He really wanted to spin my CB, so I let him.
After 10 minutes he came back full of delight and said: this bike runs so smoothly, the gearbox, idling, starting... everything, but at very low speeds you can feel its heavy top in the corners... my BMW is more clunky and not so smooth.....
