Jeez. Was that bike misplaced in storage somewhere or are they really selling that poorly? Or are a years worth of bikes all built around the same time and sent to a warehouse? Huh
I frequent a dealership in Marshall, Tx, in E. Texas. An old time dealer, the father has passed and left it (them) to his 2 sons. (They have stores in Marshall, Texarkana, and Palestine) Pretty good friends with both the sons, who run the stores. (very successful with these stores and multiple boat dealerships too)
My friend was not there - just grabbed a salesman. They didn't have a red DLX on the floor, nor did the other stores. Then he said -- we may have one in the warehouse in a crate -- they had a "card" on it, so we knew it was a 2013, but really took them a while to find it. Fun to go over to the warehouse to look for it - he finally found it and cut the cover off it to look it over.
We made a deal, a good one for me. (I wanted a 2014 DLX, but the price was really good on this 2013)
When serviced out, my friend, the co-owner was there -- he said - damn, ya'll found the bike I was hiding. We talked it over - he said I really didn't want to sell it, since I think they may not come out with a 2015, and wanted to keep a new one in the crate for 10 years....But agreed to honor the deal made and sell to me.
He said he loved the bikes, but Honda was doing a terrible job of marketing - said they could sell more if Honda would do a better job of it. (not sure Honda cares, but this dealer of course wants to sell bikes) Now he is like me, an older guy, who I suppose is the target market.
