Well I can see how that is confusing to people. Way back when I was a youngster I worked part-time pumping gas at the local gas station (1973). A older gentlemen pulls in with this huge 1969 Cadillac on a Friday evening. I lifted the hood, checked the dip stick and was it ugly thick gunk, not oil in the traditional sense. I ask him when was the last time he had the oil and filter changed? He says never needs changing as manual says front end is lubrication free for 50,000 miles. He pulls out the manual and shows me. I pointed out the front end being referenced was the ball joints and steering components. Just goes to show you how people can misunderstand when reading. And the old saying the only problem with common sense is that it is not all that common.
