Ugh.
On dry pavement, the non-ABS bike has the potential to come to a stop faster than an ABS-equipped bike. On wet, it doesn't matter who you are, ABS is _way_ better because it can pulse the master cylinder faster than your feeble meatsack brain can send the pulses to your fingers -- that's just fact.
Unless your last name is Marquez, it's unlikely you can out-perform an ABS-equipped bike on dry, clean pavement, either. Add to that the fact that most pavement is either not dry or not clean most of the time, and you have a situation in which your average rider (that is to say, 99% of all riders) would perform better with ABS.
My bike is non-ABS as I wanted it when I wanted it and an ABS-equipped bike wasn't available, otherwise I would have purchased one with it. My next bike is going to have both ABS and traction control.
