If you want smooth just buy a Goldwing. My Valk I can cold start with a nickel on the motor and it'll stay. I'm pretty sure I can do that with the CB.
Sure, the CB1100 has some faults and shortcomings but I'm cool with them.
Check the wiring connectors in the headlight bucket? If not, take a quick peek inside. If a bare connector is touching the inside of the bucket, consider wrapping some foam packaging around it.

Pretty sure my buzzing comes from the control cables rattling on the back of the helmet bucket. Gonna try black foam tubing. However, Im going to check insde the buket since you mentioned this. That can be some bad ju-ju there. Thanks..
