I broke the news...but it was GOOD news. Turns out I don't need a clutch! I can barely contain my joy and relief. Took the bike out today for a quick run since it's warmish out. Figured out that it was the hand mitts that was causing my problems. As I mentioned in another post, they were designed for a scooter and were a bit tight. It looks like they were just tight enough that, if I moved my left arm just a little, the mitt would put ever so slight pressure on the clutch lever...just enough to slip the clutch just a bit. Took the mitts off and clutch proble went away. Told Cheryl that I just saved us $400 and that now I can use that savings for a new leather jacket. She failed to see the logic in this idea.
