The Gladius didn't get much love when it was a current bike, did it? Like "Hey, why did you take the perfectly good SV650 and do this?"
I never had a problem with the updated styling of the Gladius.
I coached a coworker when he wanted to start riding. He bought a well-used SV650 at my suggestion after:
"I want a 600cc Ninja sport bike!"
"Ok, hotrod, let's get you an SV650... bigger has to be better, right?"
He did OK till his wife found out. Seems he never told her that he had started riding, and had been hiding the bike at a friend's house. It ended quick. Ever since, a few friends have asked me to help coach them and I've been careful to make sure there's mutual support before I get involved.
