NAPA used to sell a strap wrench that would remove any oil filter. It is like a strap wrench but you use it with a half inch ratchet wrench. I once tried to remove the oil filter on a Kawasaki Mule that seemed to be "welded" on. A proper sized filter wrench rounded off the flats on the filter. Filter wrench pliers collapsed the filter without budging it. I called a friend to help and he brought his secret weapon, the NAPA strap wrench and a half inch breaker bar; took it off gripping what was left of the collapsed filter.
