In any case, you did not mention getting ready to go to the dealer for a diagnostic and correction and while I suggest again using the recommended oil for your CB1100, I personally would stop running it until I got it to the dealer for engine troubleshooting and ignore the fact that you feel it is coming from the oil pan but instead think "engine noise".
Who cares? It is happening already and noise means trouble and trouble means more trouble if it is not correctly diagnosed and corrected and you and I cannot do that.
