To make a general statement that the problem is not the oil because other bike has a leak using a Honda synthetic oil is perhaps a bit of a reach, but does sound logical at first glance, but is not since the leak on the second bike could really be caused by some other factor.
But one can safely make a general statement that if you do not use the recommended oil and worse the recommended service level, then you cannot be sure it is not the oil.
