What Does Your Refueling Regimen Consist Of?

I recall us having a similar conversation a while back here on the forum. The majority of my fill-ups occur during my commute. I don't use a tank bag under those circumstances and as such, I tend to straddle the bike, remaining seated while filling up. Others pointed out the danger of fire or explosion back on that thread as well. I can see the impact in the video posted above (to be fair, it looks that guy would have been engulfed in flames even if he was standing next to the bike).

I do not use the auto-pump feature on the nozzle when filling up, instead preferring to release the gas at a pretty slow rate to avoid the mess made by splashing gas. As it gets closer to the top of the tank, I've got it flowing about as slow as the pump will allow to finish things up. After the gas has reached the filler neck in the tank, I'll trip the pump switch with my hand, cutting off the flow completely and then I'll let the last bit of gas drip out into the tank before returning the nozzle to the pump, minimizing the chance of any drips on the tank. (In my case, filling up is definitely not an exercise in efficiency.)

Now if I'm out on the road, in which case I might be using a tank bag, or am ready for a bit of a stretch anyway, I'll go ahead and dismount before fueling, and then all of the above still applies.
