Thanks to all who have contributed to my rust thread.
I am convinced that the cosmetic issues I'm experiencing are not down to my lack of care and maintenance, rain, salt, my island environment, etc. but is a manufacturing defect.
I am out of warranty so it's my problem. Will just have to try Krupator's solution of gun-kote. I see it's made in matt silver so will give it a go. Could someone recommend the correct grade - 2400 seems to be the one but I am not sure.
Beardy from London had corroded parts replaced under warranty and another UK rider had corroded cylinder barrels replaced by Honda under warranty but it's too late for me.

I'm in Holland at the moment and my buddy has just imported this wagon from Chicago, Illinois, 44 years old, original paint, sound chassis and comes from the rust belt.
Wish my bike was made by Chrysler!!!
