I used 87 octane in the CB with no issues. Plugs always read nice and clean. When Don flashed the computer and I did the other mods, he recommended upping the octane to 89. IMO, he's probably had the most exposure to the CB, and done the most dyno runs, so if anyone would know, he'd be the expert. The plugs still read excellent using mostly 89 ethanol free at Wawa. I use the Pure Gas app also, but occasionally out and about, I have to use fuel with ethanol. Truthfully, I can't tell any difference
