Has anyone swapped out their front/rear sprockets on a 2014 6 speed model?
I've searched and found a few people looking to lower the revs at motorway speeds on 5 speeds, but I'm looking to go the other way.
On a run the other day, track obviously, I was getting 100 at 6000rpm in 4th. It's doing a touch off 90 at the start of the red line at 8500rpm in 2nd.
The way it's geared it would top out in 6th at.... well, I don't know, as I haven't really got the maths to work it out, but silly speeds.
I actually only use 6th as an overdrive. Just a lazy gear for the motorway, when 2 up.
It did seem to me that lowering the gearing might just make better use of the power for my sort of riding. I like using the gears. As it is, 70 is about 3k and the motor is hardy turning. I've got a few revs to play with and thought it might 'brighten up' the bike.
Anyone gone that way on a 6 speed and if so, did it work for you?
My bike has an ECU Flash, PCV, TSR Air Intake, Air Funnels, and a cat free 4 into 1. I've also lightened it some.
Thanks
Kev
