Front tires are designed for a different task. The tend to have a more triangular profile for handling and they're designed to absorb braking loads, rather than acceleration loads seen by a rear tire. Swapping the rotation direction should take care of the load issue, but that will mean the tread pattern (which keeps you from hydroplaning in wet weather) will be backwards and probably less effective.
Basically, you'll be the test pilot when it comes to handling and wet weather performance.
