Mine acts the same way sometimes, usually during cooler morning temps. Not concerned though. I don't let my bike sit and idle to warm up; just start motor, back the bike out of my garage/driveway and I'm off.
First stop (or slow crawl, right turn) is about a quarter mile away, which is when the engine sometimes goes into the high idle mode. Second stop is another quarter mile, rpm may or may not stay high at that time.
The next stop is about a mile down and by that time the engine rpm is always back to normal.
