Seems you are a lucky guy, owning a cb1100, living in hawaii and finding out a serious problem the safest way possible,i really hope you watch some of the video's Cormanus pointed out, have a beer,

I had thought these filters would have all been recalled/taken off the shelf.
Someone i know has just put a chromed version of these k&n's on his HD, i did warn him profusely but he has faith in the shiny thing.....................I just hope he is right.
