Well I'm sure there are conflicting laws in this country. One of you is in Atlantic NE the other in Pacific NW. Certainly possible that something is legal in one and not in the other ( like helmet laws, headlight on laws, etc).
Let's not get too abusive with each other until we have facts in hand. Let's not get abusive even after that, eh?
