Getting engine covers off?

I pulled the covers off recently with no problems. The left one has a dowel pin at the lower front. Be sure you take the small 3-bolt cover off first, take the shaft out and slide the gear out. This will give a nice spot to tug from.
On the right side, pull the oil filler cap and the center plug out to tug from. The smaller cover has 2 dowel pins, the clutch cover has none. Tap with a plastic or rubber hammer if needed.
