This is not restricted to the CB1100 family. Could it be in an effort to keep costs down, Honda Japan is leveraging cheaper and cheaper subcontractors to help stay competitive and at the risk of quality assurance? Not a profound statement, but maybe their partnerships are not as good as they were hoping.
