Exceptionally good review of the CB1100RS

I came across this some time ago and have never seen a reference to it here.

I felt much the same way about my own 2013 after it'd been modded with Ikon shocks, the CB (Chip Beck) handlebars, a K&N air filter, and stainless steel Galfer brake lines/EBC HH pads.

Now, why didn't Honda bring this bike to North America? And why isn't it selling? The roads around here are thick with Triumphs of every stripe, XSR900s, various Ducatis of the Scrambler variety, and so on. Weight be hanged, I might have purchased one of these just based on this review.

I’ve got one here in the UK and although it runs very well and it’s smooth and has plenty of torque, the build quality is not really worthy of a Honda. After riding it for a year and a half, 3500 miles, the paint on the engine is starting to peel off. I have heard this from other owners too. Honda won’t even accept a warranty claim, blaming it on poor maintenance, chips, whatever they can. As if it’s normal for paint to start coming off, even in areas where there’s no way you can chip it. It might sound like a sore review but it’s not just me. So, if they don’t sell it in the US, you’re not missing on very much. Get a Triumph! Btw, I’m an ex Honda employee and I generally think positively about Honda, but not on this bike.
