about ECU controller
#1
Hi guys! nice to meet you. I'm an normal Korean user with a CB1100ex (2015).

Recently I bought a "memjet evo" from jet prime(somethimg like that ECU contoler).

Of course, it is for cb1100ex, and I purchased it after confirming the possible model year. This product is to be installed on the air temperature sensor of CB. However, there is a problem that the shape of the connector does not match at all. I contacted the Italians, but to no avail. so I'll cut the connector off and try a wire-to-wire connection.

Help please friends!

Welcome to the forum, Chungwoo Kim. You may be able to figure what the plugs are and make up a cable to join them without having to cut off the exiting connectors from either end. I'm sure someone here can tell you what the Honda ones are at least.

Nice clear images of your challenge Chungwoo KIM. A custom made adapter cable sounds like the way to go, especially since there are only two conductors.

Welcome to the Forum.

Welcome to the Forum, Chungwoo Kim. I wish you success with your project on your CB1100. Is the purpose of this project to correct a problem, or to improve performance?

Typically such things tricking the ecu into thinking the air is colder is done to gain a bit of power.

The Memjet Evo is a variable resistor that goes inline with the intake air temp sensor mounted on the airbox. Its purpose is to trick the ECU into thinking the air temp is colder than actual, as PowerDubs says above.

Normally when first starting up, the air temp is cooler, and the ECU and delivers a slightly richer fuel mixture for smooth running. This device tricks it into thinking it is always just a bit cooler, so delivers a slightly richer mixture across the board.

People often use these to get rid of the deceleration popping after installing a louder exhaust. Overall performance may be improved, worsened, or unchanged, but the popping will likely lessen.

There would need to be 2 sub-harnesses made, one plugged into the sensor, one into the harness. Looks like a job for wire nuts and electrical tape. I would cut the Memjet Evo's connectors off, and splice them into the wires between the original IAT sensor and its plug. wires. That way, if you needed to return to stock, order a new IAT and just plug it in.

Thanks everybody!!! cb forum is really heaven for me.
and it's great to have so many experts !!

I hope the "memjet" will help prevent engine overheating.

There is no such professional forum in South Korea. Thanks again everyone.

In particular, when the clutch is used frequently in a congested section, the engine rattles and the rpm drops below 1000 and death occurs. yes 2015 style

Oh. Have you checked out the threads about high/low idle problems. They seem Mohave afflicted some CB1100s and have been cured by replacing either the ECU or the IACV. The main thread is [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=8120]here. There are others.

Please let us know how your modification works.
