Ages ago I was in a poker game with Soichiro himself. After a bit too much sake, he confided in me the master plan for the CB1100. This was before he would come back as a spirit and influence the guy who would eventually go on to take credit for the CB1100 concept. I really shouldn't say anything more, but the 2017 version of this bike is really going to blow people away. To this day, I still could do without any more sake.

Well here is a post from people who attended the most recent 2013 motorcycle shows ( just a couple months ago) including the Longbeach show and the info they received from Honda reps in attendance a year later. Notice dates of 12/14/2013

NYC motorcycle show - 2013 CB1100 on display
No 2014 in sight, and the salespeople admitted they didn't know what the status would be. Web kiosk and printed sales materials for 2014 models showed the CB1100 with "(2013)" after the model name.
They had a 2013 on the floor

We just had our La motorcycle Show here in longbeach California and same goes as others have mentioned, No 2014'S but honda sales staff are aware of the new Cb1100EX but just wouldn't say if it will be coming to our shores anytime soon. kept a good sight on the 2013 that was on display and there was a crowd gathered around it like it was when it first came out in 2013.

NYC motorcycle show - 2013 CB1100 on display
I was at the NYC show as well yesterday, and the Honda staff has no idea about the 2014 CB1100. I'd bet it comes back, however, just a hunch. The show itself was great, nice turnout for a workday, and you get a sense that the MC business is on an upswing.
These aren't my words, these are the words of other forum members, who attended 2 different shows, on opposite ends of the country just a few months ago, and enquired with the Honda reps in attendance in regards to a possibility of the CB 1100 even coming into the country for 2014, much less a new model with a bunch of updates.
Ride safe.

I was only told about the proposed updates... Not if the bike would make it to US shores, funny how you now believe the reps know what they are talking about... I thought you said as a store manager... Show reps are the last to know... Hmm, store manager, of a motorcycle store... Make up your mind... Are the reps trustworthy???

Well here is what you said
RE: Trade a '13 for a '14 EX? How much will it cost?
Well, since the show is in long beach in early December, obviously the rep Let me know about the changes in December. So yes, the Honda reps in December of 2012 let us know of the changes proposed for the 2014 model.
CB1100 Dan
Daniel Holm
I was taking you at your printed word.
How about we just drop this and move on, since this is getting neither of us anywhere and has to be wearing on other forum members as well.
Ride safe

Just having fun with you... Love the blog, love the bike and love the info... Although, I did hear of the upgrades at Long Beach. I'm sorry if you did not... Well not sorry, lol. Ride safe and have fun when you can't ride...
Yes, changes, I never asked about stateside availability. I did not care about availability because I am happy with the bike I have. All of them... Happy with the CB1100. Happy with the CB1100. Not sad I bought it... Please tell Honda to make a CBX in the future... I won't complain about it I promise...

I hate to weigh in here...but since I started this thread...I feel the need.
Who in here is complaining? And what are they complaining about? I bought an '03 Sportster back in '03... because I wanted it. Then once I had it, I realized I wanted a rubber mounted, fuel injected Superglide so I traded for it the next year. Was that complaining? No. I realized it wasn't what I wanted and took the hit in the trade. I still have that Superglide today... and will only trade it when I'm ready to buy a Road King or some other more suitable Harley touring mount. My '09 KLR has a carburetor... I hate that! But am I complaining? No. However, if they came out with a fuel injected KLR, I'd consider trading for it. My life is full of things I bought then changed my mind on... a Corvette from a Mustang. A 19 foot ski boat from a 25 foot cruiser. Did I do my research? You bet. But once the item was mine, the hunt was over and the ownership began. We could talk houses, beachfront condo's, suv's, luxury cars.. but as Hillary said... 'What difference does it make? '. I really enjoy my 2013 CB1100... however I think I would enjoy a 2014 CB1100 EX even more. And I bet that I'm not alone. I did my research... I went to Daytona and talked to AMERICAN HONDA REPS. I went to the Progressive / Cycle World show in Atlanta. I've cruised the net.... I joined this forum... before I bought. NO WHERE was there any inclination that an updated version would be introduced for 2014. Not back in June when I bought the '13 and not as recently as this Fall. Not for here... not for anywhere. If that's a problem... then it's MY problem... because at the end of the day, it's MY money. And besides I like what Guth stated... that'll put another CB1100 out there... And that's GOOD for all of us. Ride safe my friend.

Guth...why are you admitting to this? You're going to jeopardize the whole thing!

Well leak those changes will you! I want a marine corps green with solid half wheels with an 8 speed gear box, drag bars, forward controls, led lights all around, interchangeable included wind screens, heater gear outlets, tires that never wear out, a seat that conforms to what you want, push button changes to your configuration such as bags cases etc...
Oh and a gas gauge that reads correct and tells you how many miles you have left in the tank and then when you get low it takes you automatically to the next fueling station!!!

No, I really shouldn't say anything else. I certainly don't want to increase the risk that I might be jeopardizing the CB1100's future. (Thanks for keeping me in check gheil.)
I'm looking forward to the day when some of you (and others who will be new to the forum) start posting up about your actual experiences with the 2014 model! Good times.

I was there! Same dream, wow man. I still get a nasty headache and a lump in my throat every time I see a bottle of Sake, or smoked eel nigiri sushi for that matter.
I'm holding out for that '17, cafe model I think, but it's all such a blur.
