New Banner?

. I think I'm with you Guth... it's not 'clean'. The original logo was excellent, whoever designed it did an excellent job. In the new one, the white one looks too much like an add-on and it muddy's up the look. I never really noticed what the red one was doing, but it's clearly moving forward, kind of pulling along or coming out of the name. Perhaps you could move it to the right, keep its prominence as the 'grand-daddy', but have it be dragging out a much less prominent new one. If you kept the new one moving to the right, you'd lose showing the left side... showing that difference, but it would be cleaner. Or perhaps you can show the new one heading in the other direction in order to show the other side. But then again, since we read left to right, that might look odd too, in a different sort of way. I'm not sure what your limitations are, artistically, but it's worth playing with. I'd vote (and you didn't ask for my vote...) to keep it simple, clean, and elegant... like the bike.

Great comments. For better or worse, I'm the person responsible for the designs. After reading your thoughts, I had to change it up once again. The latest version doesn't highlight the differences so much, but works better visually to my eye.

Yeah, but what about the guys like Cormanus from down under, who are stuck with 2011 models. Should theirs be represented as well?

That's kind Buffalohead. We had 2010 and 2011 models, but they're pretty much the same as the US 2013 model.

I have no problem with the original design and certainly didn't mean to create any ill will. I acknowledge the efforts Guth and Ferret put into creating and maintaining an excellent forum (please see the original original post.) Whatever Guth comes up with - I am totally fine with.

I think you should have the 2014 DLX head on with the 2013 showing the opposite side of the bike and have them the same size. This would show off the new 2-1 exhaust. It does not look right with the white bike.

Edit: Just went online looking for the pic, the show the 2014 with the 2013 left side. The only pic i saw of the left side was Ferret with that big smile picking up his bike.

I like the new change... it pays homage to the original bike while also showcasing the updated newer version. The subtle changes show... And it's clean.
