Sourcing oil and oil filters online

I have the 2013 and the pipe gets in the way of the wrench so I'm going to get a strap wrench for next time. The cup sockets for the Ford and the Griso need a shop rag over the filter or it slips. Kinda a pain.

Ferret, I used your excellent guide (with elipten's guidance) for my 600mi. Thank you for that! We did end up using the locks to get the old filter off, and putting the new one one I just hand tightened the hell out of it.

Rboe, I tried using a strap wrench to get the original filter off, and it wouldn't budge! Factory spec must be 850lb.ft. of torque! It would probably fare well for future changes though.

Not surprising. Last year when everyone started to do their first oil changes on the '13s, most found that the filter was overtorqued and the drain plug was undertorqued.

I got mine off using the filter cup, but I had to attach it to a breaker bar.
