31 years old. Plant operator. I simply fell in love with the look of the cb1100.
When I first started looking at motorcycles it seemed to me like everything was either crotch rockets, cruisers, or high dollar touring bikes. Never was a big fan of cruisers. I would like a high performance bike, but it's a long way to the nearest track, no sense paying for a ton of horsepower I'm not going to use.
The cb1100 checked out for everything I was looking for in a bike. Sporty enough to have a little fun on, tame enough to commute comfortably. I put a Garmin 665 on it with xm radio, some sw motech sidecases, and a Corbin seat now it's up to the point I wouldn't mind doing a little bit of touring on it.
BTW those sidecases and mounting racks were expensive but probably the best money I spent on this thing.

Posichronic, g'day and welcome to the forum. How about posting some pictures of your bike?
BTW, there has been some argy bargy about the CB1100's merits as a touring bike, but a number of us have toured on it and been very happy with it.

27, IT director in medical field. Bought my CB new at 25 after owning a Shadow for 1500 miles. As everyone here probably feels, I absolutely love it.

61, recently retired research scientist in biotechnology. My first bike at age 16 was a 1966 or '68 Honda 160 scrambler but I had to sell it when I bought my first car. I also owned a 1972 Norton commando and a Honda CM450 (year?). In 1984, I moved to the Boston area for my first real job and decided the drivers in this area were insanely aggressive and unpredictable so I put off owning a bike for 30 years. Last summer I dropped by a local dealership and saw the CB1100 and decided then and there to buy one. It looked completely out of place surrounded by a sea of plastic! I really wanted the 2014 deluxe but they offered a $1000 off on a new 2013 CB1100 with ABS so I went for it. No regrets but it would have been nice to have that 6th gear now and then.

Welcome! I have the same model as yours and I have to defend the five speed. Maybe I'm just an old fart, but I never have a need to cruise at 90 MPH and that's about where a 6th gear would be useful. But I tend to let the engine wind out a bit. The bottom line for me is, I trust those engineers. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me

I´m 34 year old working in sales deptartment of a commercial TV channel. So I´m delivering time for advertising to our customers and handling the projects from initial contact to aftersales reporting. Purchased the CB after I sold my Superhawk 1000 several years ago. I liked the idea of UJM and did not want to cramp on a crotch rocket anymore.

What the heck?
I'm a 47-year-old deputy district attorney. I've been a prosecutor for roughly 15.5 years. For the past 8+ years I've been assigned to the Gang Prosecution Unit where I've largely specialized in prosecuting Mexican cartel violence that crosses into our jurisdiction. Murders, shootings, robberies, kidnappings for ransom. That sort of thing. Recently, I was assigned to lead a team of gang prosecutors in our southern branch. My office is less than 10 miles from the border with Mexico. In addition to the cartel violence, I also prosecute members of what are considered traditional, turf-oriented street gangs. More murders, shootings, stabbings, home invasion robberies, carjackings, etc. Some of these gang members are also members or associates of the Mexican Mafia (not to be confused with Mexican drug cartels).
The southern portions of our county have a large concentration of Hispanic residents and, as a result, much of the gang violence I currently prosecute is perpetrated by Hispanic street gangs. When I worked out of our downtown office, we had a broader range of gangsters to deal with - Hispanic, African-American, Asian, White, along with the cartel, Mexican Mafia, and various motorcycle gangs. I've seen some awful, unimaginable things over the course of my career. Motorcycling, and in particular, my amazing CB and my brothers here on the forum, provide me with much needed balance. Riding allows me to clear my head and recharge. Meditation in motion. I suppose that's why so many of my posts here tend to be light-hearted and attempts at humor. Just trying to keep that balance in my life. Thanks for putting up with my nonsense.

Funny that you say that. I, along with two of my colleagues, prosecuted a splinter cartel group that was responsible for nine murders and a number of kidnappings for ransom, robberies and the attempted murder of a cop. In the last two murders, the group dissolved the bodies in acid and poured the remains into a clandestine grave on a ranch by the border. I finally got around to watching Breaking Bad after so many people told me I had to watch it. (I loved it.) I found myself repeatedly saying, "Hey! That's just like my case!"
