Good on you redReno. I am new to the forum so, as the song goes, "........ I hardly knew you". I felt compelled to post as I have the (very) occasional ride on my mates CB1000RR. Not the R but a real close cousin. You have gone from a steady and comfortable hausfrau to a real wild girl. On the 1000 I haven't had as much adrenaline in the veins since the '93 Blade. Makes me realise my limitations have changed in the intervening 20 years.

I rode both at the dealer. The 1000R was the one I thought I wanted but the ride was really stiff and I felt every little ripple in the road. The bars were at an odd angle that made my shoulders tired quickly. The CB11 I took out and immediately felt at home on, so much so that in my ten mile test loop that included a highway run between exits, I took a side road just before pulling back into the dealer so I could open her up more in each gear and ride some twisties. I am 53 so the CB11 is a better fit for these old bones. It was nice and relaxing just as former MotoGP rider Tady Okada said it was in his video test ride.

same here...very tempted by the 1000. Then since I already had a street triple, I figured that when I wanted a stiff(sportbike) ride and be in a uncomfortable position I could simply ride that.

I would give up motorcycling if the CB11 doesn't appear on show room. my previous 4 bikes all had less than 6K each in the last 20 yrs, one is a brand new bike with 1K miles after 5 yrs of ownership.

I put on the CB11 4K in 3 months since Aug. I don't have a lot of choice - 5'7 and 160lbs, my requirement is flat foot on the bike, no exception (yet) this bike is everything I hope for, fit like grove, decent power with good torque for low speed riding and utmost beautiful. I love beauty, give me a good ugly bike, I ride it but not for long.

It is also small, which I really like. I even like RED and chrome and water cooled engine. This is my last bike unless something else come and conquer my heart the way CB11 does (6 speeds CB11? ) someone love speed and ride fast, the best speed for this bike fits my riding style 20 - 70 MPH.

Yes, the CB11 cruises nicely at 60-65 with me. The short little stint of 70 around here isn't too bad, but for a long ride at 70 I could see a 6th gear. That's where I might look for a ST1300 or a Wing instead.

I wasn't sure if I would let you all know, but, I traded her in.

She is an awesome bike and if I could have two bikes, she would always be mine. I can see myself picking one up again down the road.

I was really enjoying her, nice and comfortable, strong, super easy to ride... I just needed more... So I traded her in for a CB1000R.

The CB1000R feels so aggressive and it is much easier to shift my weight into a turn, it is what I was looking for, should have thought about it over more during the first trip to the dealership.

I won't talk about the deals made, but I did get the CB1000R while it was on sale.

Anyway, I will be visiting this site from time to time to see how you all are doing, there was so much more I wanted to do to the CB11... But I am much happier now with this bike.

I will be posting up the Staintune exhaust for sale soon, I also have the service manual and the extra tools missing from the tool bag upon acquiring the CB11 from the dealer.

You put a fortune in the CB1100, why sell it? I'd like to know as I am also on the fence with this bike; thinking about doing the shock but if the handling issues cannot be corrected, even with the Ohlins, then I'm done. I'll sell or trade it. Please advise.

I too have traded my 1100 in but for a cruiser. The dealership gave me $7200 on trade in and that covered the brand new zero miles 2011 Kawasaki Vulcan and I even got farkles thrown in since the trade in was more than what they dropped the Vulcan price to. All to get rid of an old floor sitting rent taking up bike.

Was going to get in too much trouble in the end with my aggressive riding with the sweet cb1100... I do regret it at times but not everyone is rich enough to afford more than one bike... Plus I am getting roughly 15 more mpg with the new bike with the same riding habit and riding places than I did with the cb1100.

I do hope I am still welcomed here...

Storage really limited me to a one bike fleet. I turned that CB into to much of a show bike. Living in the worst place for something chrome and shiney, it was killing me to have it here.

I got mine to handle almost-kinda/maybe close to a 600 superbike, the brakes are just a lost cause, you can't out brake them.
Keep your bike and put my Ohlins on it. Do the front and get sticky tires and you'll be just about topped out handling wise.
I plan on listing all the hi-po stuff I'm pulling off.

If you trade, do like Dbuster and go for a floor model.

I did smoke a '13 Wee-strom 1000 though! AKA Suzuki V-strom
