Update! 7840 miles as of today
Some of you may recall, I picked up my sons CBDLX the end of June last year. I put 1100 miles on it during it's first ride, Ohio to Orlando. Now at the end of January it's showing 7606 totally trouble free miles. 2200 of them added when I took it on a trip from FL. to NC and back last October. My son has only ridden it 3 or 4 of them. He has promised to ride it more in spring. It will be fun to ride together, me on my lightly cafe'd red with gold pin striped '78 Yamaha 750 triple. So anyway, that's about 1100 miles per month average. Glad to live and ride year 'round in central FL. The CB is awesome, especially with the reflash. 132 mph has been it's fastest GPS verified velocity to date. It's gone through a front tire and it's getting ready for a rear. Interestingly, I detailed it today, cleaned and lubed everything and the chain adjustment is still in spec. I found some Lemon Pledge wipes and I gave them a try instead of the Honda polish I normally use. Primo results, just like the old days
The only adds have been a set of IKON shocks and chrome oem engine guards, however I think a nice set of black bar end mirrors are going on next. As I've talked about on my CB Facebook page "CB1100DLX Face Book Group", I like the kids bike so much, I'm thinking of selling my other toys and getting a used '13 to lightly cafe. By lightly, I mean NO clip ons (gotta keep the riding position tolerable for my soon to be 66 year old bones) some flat bars with bar end mirrors, color matched or '14 side covers, a solo, rear cowl type seat and a full system, raspy exhaust. In black preferably, but any color will do. It'll take a little time to divest the 3 Yammy's and the '09 Dodge Challenger, but it looks like I'm going to be heading in that direction. Well, 7600 mostly trouble free, extremely enjoyable fun filled miles. Darn hard to beat
