Have any of you ever visited Japan? The home of our beloved CB1100? Or, Honda headquarters?

We lived in Japan for three years ('62-'65). My dad was Air Force stationed at Tachikawa AFB. I was so young, the only recollection of motorcycles I had were of Dad in a "step-through" (hopefully a Honda) that he rode around the base. I didn't get into bikes until much later.

I do remember Tokyo (going up Tokyo tower), the Sony Headquarters and Mt. Fuji.

I would LOVE to visit Japan again, especially the Nikon and Honda headquarters!

I wonder if I could smuggle a Honda Monkey Bike back in my luggage?

Since a few years, my wife and I try to go to Japan once a year. We love visiting there, and have a few friends mostly around Tokyo. When I was younger, I actually worked 9 years for a Japanese bank here in Geneva. It is so much easier to get around there now than what it was 30 years ago, with all the subway signs also being in English now. Oh, and the food! Fresh sushi at the fish market in Tsukiji.

I spent 5 weeks there for my job in 96. I climbed mount Fuji while there !

I go to Yokosuka every now and then as a Navy civilian tech. But I hate the flight so my co-worker usually goes and I take other trips. I like Japan.

I lived there for about a year in '04-'05, and then again for three and a half from '08. The second stint was where I was introduced to the wonderful world of motorcycles! I pined for a CB400 Super Four, but wasn't patient enough to save up for one on my student budget. I briefly rode a Yamaha XJR400 followed by an SR400 instead. Good times! A lot of fun bikes to look at there. And the rider population is huge, especially if you count all the little 50cc scooters. Holy cow, there were countless scooters everywhere.

I've visited as a tourist once and really enjoyed it. I'd go back any time.

In my past life... I worked for American Honda Motor Co., Inc., for 29 years.
I would visit Japan, for work, annually from 1985 until the Internet got to be so good that the cost of traveling to Japan was, well, cost-prohibitive.
I loved visiting Japan. The culture was so much different from that of the United States.
Never had a chance to ride a motorcycle in Japan... that would have been interesting.
