Am not an HD fan per se, but my wife, son and I visited the HD Museum several years ago, and even my wife, decidedly NOT into motorcycles herself, was rather laudatory about this first-class museum and how informative it is about the history and development of HD's over the last century! Oh, and the building architectue itself is a standout, too! In short, it IS worth the trip!

It really is a cool place and a great draw for the local economy. The one thing I wish is that they didn't have a restaurant so some of the great local joints could pick up the food traffic.

One negative: it is like the Mecca for weekend warriors. So sometimes you have to watch the inexperienced chromed out Ultra Classic Death Machines rolling streets.

I visited the museum when I went up there for the 105th rally back in 2008. It was a great rally and the museum is really cool.
Harley fan or not... every lover of motorcycles should visit the museum and their offices. You can't deny the contribution that Harley has made to our sport. Here's a few photos inside and out.

I believe this is serial number 2. Number 1 no longer exists. I think I'm right on that.



At the home office, not the museum. I like this shot because they allowed us to ride our bikes on the sidewalk so we could get a picture of the bike in front of the sign and the building. Really cool!

How do you guys get your posted pictures to appear? I followed instructions posted to this forum several months back that stated "copy the URL and then paste it into the subject area in a forum post. For the image to appear you MUST include the .jpg extension." I believe I have done this, but apparently I am missing something.

I never could figure that out either. Many use photobucket, but I didn't like that either. I noticed that Guth used Tapatalk, so I went there too. It works fine.

Gentlemen,

I take my CB11 to Harley biker bars all the time and whatever reaction I get is always positive. I was up in Carefree yesterday at the Hideaway Bar & Grill and two hardcore bikers walked over to tell me how much they liked it. Maybe I'm just not looking for it but when I'm on a Harley its cool with metric bikers and when I'm on the CB11 it's cool with HD riders. Bikers one and all.

Museum in Milwaukee is a great place to visit. I drove up from Chicago when I was over there on business and definitely a cool site for all bikers.

Also managed to do the factory "hard hat" tour of their Kansas City assembly plant also when on a business trip, hey why not make work trips interesting?

Did the tour with just one other guy so it was like a private tour and you really do get to walk along the factory floor. Another cool site for all bikers.

Go check it out on the HD site and you can even book your tour ahead of time. HD knows how to market for sure.
