Driving a manual and fooling with a phone are easy. You're rarely shifting on a highway.

Driverless automobiles is really the only salvation. I just read today that auto collisions (I hate to call them accidents) are way up in the most recently reported period.

Pulled up beside a fellow at a red light and he was shaving with his cordless norelco. I looked at him and shook my head. He just looked back and shrugged his shoulders.

My round trip for work, when I have to go to the satellite location, is 94 miles.. On the last trip no less than 3 people in cages messing with phones attempted to kill me..

Here in CA it is supposed to be illegal here but no one cares..

I think, at this point, that getting caught face down on your phone while driving should carry the same fines and penalties as drunk driving.

Ya know, if every body rode motorcycles, we all would be much safer.
Natural selection would kick back in.

You could be right about that although rush hour traffic on freeways would be total chaos I think. Big Grin

I haven't seen someone text on a motorcycle yet but there's a first time for everything.

I am of the gen. that never learned to text, I don't get it. One time someone or something tried to send me one and my
cell Co. charged me 10 cents. I called them and complained *#** and they block them all now. I am very cheap-

Lol CA that's funny. You sound like my brother although he has recently discovered texting. About 10 years ago my kids were 31 and 27. You'd call them and get no answer... But if you texted them both answered you right back. When asked why, both said they didn't like " talking" on the phone and it was easier and more efficient to communicate through texts. They still won't answer the phone so I no longer even try to call them. IT was either learn to text, or not talk to my kids ( if you call that talking lol)

It did allow me to get rid of my land line phone and that monthly bill lol

There is a certain undeniable efficiency to texting. I'm one of those that doesn't like to be on the phone much. But like anything else, there's a time and place for it - behind the wheel of a two ton bullet is not it!
