Sure, its high mileage relative to its model year, but that's a fair price for a well appointed and absolutely beautiful bike. Put another 24,000 miles on it, and you'll get your money's worth.

"Money invested" always amuses me as it it always 100% a loss. Yes, I have lost tens of thousands myself but I knew that ahead of time, before playing the game.

Lotta guys seem to be getting rid of their bikes this year. Many don't post any longer. We got MotoGeezer's bike up for sale here, posted by someone else. Well into five figures poured into it plus a lot of sweat. Now he's giving it away. Maybe the appeal of this bike is just finally starting to wear off. It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of these guys are buying the new Triumph or holding out for the new RS model or some other bike with more power and potential. I'm good with mine just how it is but I would sure like to hear from these guys as to why they are dumping their bikes on the used market. But of course it would be stupid to say why you were selling at the same time the bike is up for sale.

Well, nobody's getting any younger. My best riding is probably behind me and my remaining riding career is on borrowed time. It's hard to imagine right now, but my bikes will be on the block in the next few years. When that time comes, a few thousand dollars in price either way won't make a difference.

my guess would be that MG just loves motorcycles and after 24k miles the enjoyment of modifying this one has pretty much been achieved to satisfaction and time to move on to another adventure.
This is what i have done over and over through the years as each bike is exciting at first , then enjoy modding it and finally seeing something else that has my interest. Lets face it , a bike is one thing you can ride all you want , get all the enjoyment out of it and move on to a newer model without seeing a divorce lawyer ... Good Luck MG = Cool guy!

Yep, and this bike attracts older riders to begin with. That, coupled with declining health/strength etc. leads to some guys selling their bikes and either downsizing or quitting riding altogether.

Remember Geezer recently bought one of those new XSR Yammie 900 triples which probably satisfies his performance lust a little more than the CB.
He's not quitting, he loves riding too much and his 2 best buds are avid riders

Hi Guys! I've been busy doing some traveling. I just bought a cherry 45th Anniversary Camaro SS convertible and took a 10 day circuitous road trip after picking it up in Detroit. Drove it home via the Dragon
![]() Great to read the comments and opinions on selling my bike. The CB is my 42nd 2 wheeler. As you all know, it's a great ride, probably my favorite of all time, and came with the added benefit of gaining you guys as friends. I recently finished a 2k mile mountain trip and visit to Barber Vintage Days on it It needs nothing and could be driven cross country right now without hesitation. It's tastefully and professionally done and I think, priced fairly. Only the market will tell. I usually put at least 70 or 80k miles on my most liked rides, but at this point, I've decided to share pride of ownership and let this one put a smile on some one else's appreciative face for a while! That's the story, I'm sure someone will enjoy it as much as I have, there's a lot of enjoyment and plenty of miles to go
