Tank Warning Decals

I made the mistake of leaving mine on for a year and a few months, and then taking them off. They came off OK and there was no color difference but they did kind of sink in to the paint a little bit leaving visible depression lines.

I'm swimming against the current on this one. I prefer to keep my bikes completely stock, and that includes leaving on the warning stickers. The PO had already removed them from my DLX. I'll need to order a set. I don't mind them, and someday I'll be selling this bike. They'll only add to the originality and authenticity of the bike.

That's dumb. They won't truly 'be' original and you won't get them 100% back where they were from the factory. Might as well order backup original tires, factory oil and filter to put on it before you sell it. Heck, stop riding it too! It didn't have any miles on it originally.

Keeping a bike, car, house, etc all original just means you go through life compromised, not 100% suited to you and honestly a boring way to live. Just my opinion, but have fun, not having fun.

Yeah, that's how I roll. I prefer to use OE tires, filters, fluids, brakes, etc. If I need to replace a component (lever, grip, cable, mirror, etc.) I replace it with an OE piece, not aftermarket. Last month I discovered the PO had installed a K&N air filter. I promptly replaced it with an OEM filter. Dumb or not, that's how I prefer it.

Me, too. In fact I even put the OEM mirrors back on the CB1100 I bought used before I left the OP's property. I couldn't see out of the tiny ones he had installed.

I left the stickers for fear of not remembering what to do when I got on the bike.

I kid... were the first thing changed.

I was off today and finally decided to remove the tank stickers and install my RLETs. The stickers were easy... I let the hot sun warm up the tank and they peeled right off. A little GooGone removed the residue and spray detailer shined it up nice... no fading and it looks so much nicer without them!!

Unfortunately, the RLETs were a different story... let's just say my angel didn't get her wings yet.
