what if you are not going destination (city to city for example) but by roads? 222 to 743 to 52 to Laurel-Moscow-756 to 232 to 222 (for example)

Sometimes I add 2 or 3 additional destinations (although those are often just intersections, not stopping points) so that the Google route more closely resembles my planned (or actual) route. An Example: I am riding to Wisconsin and back. I ask Google to give me directions to my northernmost destination. Then I add a second destination someplace along the return route (I do this to avoid having Google give me the same out and back route). Then I add home as the final destination. From there, I can drag either the "out" route line or the "back" outline to lay over the roads I actually will travel on. You may have to drag several of these points to get the route laid out correctly and there is a limit to how many points you can lay down. What I'm left with in this example is a blue loop which I can then snip and post here for all the world to see. (which is why I don't use my exact address)

Thanks MTC and Ferret, I got a good idea where to start. Just have to find a snipping tool that will work with my MacBook Pro. I plan on taking my first trip on my new CB1100 after this winter. Perhaps to my old stomping grounds to the Adirondack Mountains and the St Lawrance Valley of Northern NY.
Now to my snowblower and I report my driveway trip with it later! Yes it is heavy and does not handle to good in the curves!

I also use Google Maps. I now have 70 printed maps and their reverse routes, showing the distance and time between origin and destination. They range from 1/2 an hour to 2 hours.
I use them to set up my day rides. By shuffling the deck, I never get bored riding the same roads repeatedly. The distance allows me to calculate my gas stops; and the times my breakfast stop, lunch stop, and time home for supper. They fit well in the top of my tank bag. I change them when I stop at each on route destination.

Yesterday they called for a high of 47 and sunny so the CB got to go play. Couldn't have said it better. just a joy to ride. ![]()

You nicely highlighted an exceptional point about our CB1100 that is often overlooked - the transmission. The transmission in the CB is an amazing gem, possibly one of the best motorcycle transmissions out there. Smooth, quiet, reliable, and it shifts almost intuitively in the full range of conditions - cold mornings, long tours, or a full day at the track with temps in the 90s (Fahrenheit). I love it (if you couldn't tell) and I try never to take it for granted.

Sometimes, having more than 31.000km ridden on my CB, I think, I've seen it all. All that it offers. Yes and no. It surely depends on my riding style, which is pretty much the same most of the time, relaxed and sort of smooth. A mood that seems to fall easily in on the Honda. But than sometimes I can not keep myself back from experiencing a different CB, a much quicker and lively one by pulling the throttle and I find out, there is even more than I expect. The other side of the CB.
Ferret, you did a full and good description of our motorbike, I totally agree with your statement. Wisedrum
