This is a tremendously useful, friendly, and civil forum and a refreshing change from most of the forums I read daily.
Thanks for this post and for sticking to your principles.

Guth,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for this forum. I really appreciate the relaxed way, you run this forum! This forum without commercial interest connects nice people from all over the world, based on their common interest in motorcycles and especially in the CB1100. That's the reason, why here it's about the participants. The forum is just the medium to allow communication between all of those different characters, bringing in all their valuable and in many aspects enriching contributions. If it was a commercial forum, it would be about the forum and how to maximize the profit. Then low traffic would be an issue as advertising income would decrease. Now, if there is low or high traffic, it doesn't matter. Sometimes friends just sit quietly together. What people write and how they care matters. Keep up the good work running this forum! Additional I would like to thank our moderators The Ferret and Cormanus! They do a great job on house keeping in this forum, making it the cozy place it is. And thanks to all of you members for showing up at this place and contributing. It 's not just technically. I saw a lot of the world outside my country thru your eyes, reading your articles and looking at your pictures. Thanks for this community.

I'm always impressed by the civility and willingness to help that I find on this forum and why it's a joy to tune in here nearly every day - and often several times a day.
Guth, you made the right choice by not selling out to a conglomerate of forums. They are all about money and I'm sure this community would soon become the victims of it and the forum would probably fade and go down the drain. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Thanks to you and ferret for all you do. It's much appreciated

Singing Kumbya...
Low posts or not I check in daily for the banter (sometimes inane but who cares), like pointed out before, it is conversation. I've never met but have learned many of the folks on here personality and enjoy 99% of the topics/chats. The other forum I'm on is laiden with ads and is a chore to navigate. Thanks Guth. I'll thank the mods too as they do great (and not insignificant) work. Watered down or full strength I'll be checking in.

It is always my first stop for any information I am seeking. When the weather breaks and I can start riding again, I will post more, maybe some pictures if I can figure it out.

![]() "No diddly-darn cussin' or swearin' or taking the CB1100's name in vain, and everything will be peachy keen, kiddos! I'm fixin' to head out on my seventy-third riding day in a row, so be good and mind the store while I'm off galavantin' and just plain bein' a rootin'-tootin', traffic-laws abidin', fifty-five miles-per-hour rapscallion of our local highways and byways! Hi-diddly-ho, neighborinos!"

CB1100forum is an excellent place to be. Hands down. I've moderated a forum for stick shift driving, and been a member of forums for the Mazda3, hypermiling, and the Ninja EX500. This sanctuary is by FAR a model of what an online forum centered around a niche product should be. Helpful, concise, humble, and fun.
Thank you Guth, thank you The Ferret, and thank you Cormanus. I sincerely appreciate all of your hard work on this site we call home.

Guth,
First, let me thank you very much for this forum. Apologizing is never an easy thing to do. It takes honesty and integrity to recognize one was wrong. Then it takes courage and maturity to apologize. I read other forums where people fight against each other for weeks and nobody wants to admit he/she is wrong. Then they call each other all kinds of names. You have set an example for this forum and it is certainly why I notice that people on this forum are more courteous. There is no shame in offering apologies. As I was reading your post, I was afraid of the "announcement" part of your post. I was thinking you were planning to take a leave from this forum ownership/leadership. But soon the relief came as I read. You've made my day. Ride on safely ! |
