I'm not trying to discount that at all. It's almost exactly how I felt about my CB1100 after I changed over to the Staintune. The bike does indeed physically feel different to me. A search would reveal that a lot of guys feel the same way. All I'm saying is that it's likely that some percentage of what you feel is a placebo effect (or whatever you want to call it) — there are both actual differences and perceived differences at play here. In my case, the exhaust did make some measurable differences and Staintune can prove it. But that's nothing compared to the difference that I actually feel in terms of the overall experience.
It's kind of like listening to someone playing a Fender Strat though a cheap solid state amplifier vs a vintage tube amp. Even though it's the same player and the same guitar, listening to the S.S. amp sounds good and makes me happy. Listening to the vintage tube amp raises goose bumps on my arms and actually causes my legs to weaken at times. Aural impacts can absolutely cause heighten physical reactions. (I spent 11 years of my life in Austin specifically because of the music scene there at the time.  )

The press mistakenly claimed the '14 DLX had the C-ABS brakes of the '13 ABS. It didn't. Anyone comparing the hoses and front calipers could quickly discern the difference. And many dealers, to this day, mistakenly claim the '14 Standard has ABS because they can clearly see the slotted wheel on the rear disk. You can't always believe what someone else asserts.

The list of people I got to watch play in Austin was unbelievable. Before that I lived in Lubbock for a while. One of the few upsides of that experience is that I got to go see Stevie Ray Vaughn play in a club about the size of the first floor of my current house for $3 a pop whenever he passed through town. Man that guy could wail, and I can tell you that for me his playing was definitely able to raise some goosebumps. I got to meet him back then and he was a really nice guy. I'd like to think that SRV would at least appreciate the CB1100 if he were still around today.
VLJ, I actually prefer to play acoustic (I like old Gibsons), but listen to a lot more electric stuff. Just to tie this all together, I put my music/playing over the video that husky385 shot when a bunch of us went for a ride through the Columbia Gorge and around Mt. Hood here in Oregon back in 2106...

I think there is some connection between riding motorcycles and playing guitars. So many of my present and past riding friends also played guitar. There are motorcycle racers who play and are even in bands. My brother who has ridden bikes since his early teens and raced motocross runs a luthier business from his home plus continuing to play gigs in Tallahassee, FL. I have no musical ability whatever, what happened.

I agree with redbirds. In my case as a kid, I thought that the coolest things in the world were motorcycles, cars and guitars (sounds like a good album title). So naturally I was drawn to all three things from early on. At one point in my life I almost bailed on my job in marketing communications to go work for a guitar builder in Austin.

I'm guessing that you can ride a lot better than me.

Nice tunes! I started playing classical guitar about 6 years ago...can play Fernando Sor primitively...whoops, I'm driiiiiiiiiiiiiiftiiiiiiing!
Guth, was I on the ride? I pretty sure that was me up front somwhere, slowing everybody down. Who was it that got pulled over, nearly got a ticket? Fun day...I can see Mt. Hood from my office window as I type--well, I mean I can see the clouds covering Mt. Hood.

I played drums through high school. At some point, I realized that I could not keep 5/4 time (Damn you Dave Brubeck!) and gave it up. Someday, I may buy an electric kit, but things like bathroom remodels, a back deck to my house, food, and motorcycle expenses (definitely not in that order) take precedent.
My son is getting his Masters Degree in music (Trombone Performance) so, I hope he is able to make music for living. That would be cool.
