The best part by far was the friendship and camaraderie with Peter and sharing the entire journey together. As for the scenery, the coastal road around the Gaspé Peninsula was absolutely outstanding. I honestly think it's one of the most beautiful motorcycle routes in eastern Canada. Unfortunately, we weren't so lucky with the weather on the stretch to Matane and the day after. The temperature dropped to just 8°C (46°F), and then the rain started.

If you hold off a couple of days, I can catch Django on the mileage tracker before he adds the miles from y'alls trip

It doesn't matter what I ride, how far or how fast, only that I ride .... every day

We also had a problem with picking up Django’s rental BMW due to location change, but we managed this as well.
.

Here is an update, day by day.

DAY 1, Monday

... indeed.
The Canadian Bike Rental website listed two locations in Toronto ON, but neither was actually operating.
After a brief phone call and some messages exchanged with the owner—who was in British Columbia—we were directed to a third, correct location where a BMW was already waiting for us...
We were warmly welcomed and received an apology for the mix-up...
It’s a really cool spot—Moto Cafe—that will appeal even to the most demanding motorcyclists...

... and here is Django rolling out his Beemer

.....

That same day, Django asked for a test ride around the block, which ultimately ended up covering 200+  kms
Just before the test...

Man I was close before he dropped the Trans-Canada mileage bomb on me. Now I need binoculars to see him again and you're closing the gap behind me  Blush

Try the same trick we did... disconnect the speedometer cable from the camshaft and connect it to the crankshaft to get a reading of 2 miles for every mile ridden—since the gear ratio between the camshaft and the crankshaft is 1:2... Tongue

It’s hard to beat you, seeing as you ride almost every day, but I still have 1–2 long-distance routes up my sleeve, but not as long as the one leading to the Atlantic.

We had to stop for refueling every +- 280 kms, and Django enjojed drinking his rutine black coffee.
Finally after arriving at Motel Cartier, Riviere du Loup, QC and checking in, we cross the street to have a good meal with  Beer of course.
