Freeze Out

I picked up some Freeze Out windproof, thermal under garments (I feel like my grandma saying "under garments" but don't know what else to call them) from Cycle Gear today. Going to use them on my ride to Vegas next week. I hope they're as good as they claim to be. I got the long pants, the zippered jacket and the gloves. I already have a neck gaiter (Turtle Fur) which is outstanding.

I'll be back with my impressions next weekend!

I have the bottoms and have no gripes with them. They work well imo. I need to pick up a few more items and will definately buy this brand again.

FWIW, I call them long johns.

Perfect. Long johns it is! Much better than "under garments" or "insulated granny panties" which also crossed my mind.

p.s. Don't forget the Jiffy Pop. As you know, you can cook it on top of your engine and then use it to keep your head warm when you're not chowing down.

I've wondered about the freeze out gear after seeing it in the magazines. Price seems reasonable. Looking forward to a report to see how it works

I had problems with the Heat-Out version of this gear. Mainly, it was a sizing issue. Even the 2XL was too small. I don't think they make a 3XL. I'm usually an XL. In order to get the shirt to be long enough, the neck hole was stretched to the point that I looked like that post-capture picture of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

I never rode in it because it was so uncomfortable. Perhaps a larger size would have worked, though, and maybe the Freeze-Out versions work better. I'm a big advocate for base layers, but this brand didn't do it for me.

I'm looking into TwistedCore for my winter base layer and MotoSkivees for my summer "short-johns?" I'll let y'all know how they work out.

I was heading down to Cycle Gear later to get one of the neck things or a face mask. I already have the glove liners and may pick up some boot liners. My jacket and pants keep my body plenty warm, but my extremities tend to get cold. It tends to get worse the more coffee I drink since caffeine restricts blood flow.

Oh man, that's terrible news!!!
Crap! I shudder to think what my demeanor would be like if I gave up my coffee. Oh Lord, this is not good. Even when I close the shop twice a week (2-10 shift) I'm drinking coffee 'till I lock the doors.
Been having cold feet and toes here lately. Had no idea caffeine could be the culprit.

It could also be poor circulation, which I haven't the best myself. Caffeine does exacerbate it, though.
