Milestone Ride 3 Video Game (PS4, XBox)
#1
Just workin on getting through another winter up here in Canada before the next riding season and video games can and do prevent me from going postal. Was delighted to discover that the latest motorcycle simulation game from Milestone called 'Ride 3' has a 2017 CB1100 EX that you can ride, customize and race. Just had my first, first place finish with it. Even with all the the other bikes on offer in this game, the CB1100 was still my huckleberry. It is not a bad virtual representation of the bike and the game has a lot of accurate information about motor bikes and history. If you can't ride, then dream of riding...

Wa' 'bout gittin' the ride out on some of the drier days of winter? Is that possible in yer neck of the woods? That would be good medicine.

I don't know where Mandrau is, but in most places in Canada this time of year it's too cold for any real comfortable riding except maybe in British Columbia which has a more moderate climate on the Pacific coast side of the Rockies.
The rare days the temps may get above freezing means that it will be raining instead of snow.
It's -10C (14F) here today, but if he can squeeze a ride in more power to him. We use tons of salt on our roads and even if its dry the salt dust can get into places you can't see and start doing nasty thiungs.
No thanks, I call it quits and wait for April.

I picked up an earlier version of the game a couple years ago because it had the Triumph WC 1200's in it (dogs btw). Good game, pretty well done, but, like most motorcycle platforms, once you get past some early bikes/levels the faster bikes are incredibly hard to control. Your braking point comes up so fast that if you are just a little bit iffy about the track you end up bouncing off every guard rail around. Like you said though there is some cool stuff in it and some of the vintage bikes are cool.

Between rains and/or wet snow in winter, there are opportunities in the Toronto and greater region. Yes, salt is a problem, but I wait until it has been mostly washed or brushed aside. The salty roads have to be at least dry (otherwise it is really miserable). The slight salt residue provides very good traction. Sand on the other hand, well, beware. Salt dust - the chain does not like, so extra protection is required. -10C is subject to the rider, of course. Nevertheless, -10C is not a problem for the CB and I find is good medicine for an hour stint. As The Ferret may attest, it makes one feel alive in the doldrums of winter.

Do they have a cruise mode or is it all about racing in that game?

I have a good collection of movies that feature motorcycles, watch some youtube videos to learn about riding, read books from the library, and comparison shop for motorcycles I will never actually buy. I wander into a shop to have a browse here and there, but try not to do that so much that the employees get annoyed. I wish there was a winter storage/indoor track facility close by...
