I found this very entertaining video on the Motorcycle.com site. It's worth a watch I think. Riding cross country on a Bonnie.

Nice Video!
I had a friend tell me that the reason motorcycles became so popular after WWII is pilots came home and said the motorcycle is the closest they could get to flying a plane again.
As a private pilot I have to agree....there are advantages to flying, such as it's impossible to slide off the road! They do tend to "slide" sideways in the air but there is nothing for them to hit when they do ;-) (assuming at altitude)

Watched the whole thing. Very cool. I've ridden a motorcycle to a lot of those places he visited. A lesson for those of us ( including me) who thinks a CB 1100 is too small to really tour on.

How true. I toured many miles on a 750 in the 70's and never felt like I needed any more bike. When the FI Bonnies were introduced a few years back Clement Salvadori rode a T-100 from the east coast back to his home in California and had compliments for the Bonnie's versatility. The key for me is staying off boring interstates and enjoying the US and State highways along with the interesting small towns one finds.

Not much wrong with touring on a CB1100.
