Video: Motorcycle Safety 1973 (feat. Peter Fonda and Evil Knievel)
#1
Just found this "historic" video. I thought it might be worth sharing.
Featuring Peter Fonda on a HD and Evil Knievel and on a bike that I can't identify.
Their messages still hold true.

Evil is riding an Aermachhi badged Harly Davidson Sprint, either 250cc or 350cc. In the early 60s HD bought a percentage of Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aermacchi in order to have a range of small motorcycle to compete against the onslaught of small bikes from Japan. Harley would take their bikes and rebadge them as Harley Davidsons. My first street bike was a 1965 Aermacchi M50 badged Harley.

Fun fact Aermacchi went on to become Cagiva and eventually MV Augusta

Gosh the music and film style. So 70's.

Harley actually eventually owned 100% of Aermacchi, and as they generally do with other motorcycle firms that they buy (Buell, MV) tanked the business and sold it to Cagiva in full. MV was a separate company, Cagiva bought the trademark out of bankruptcy.
Super cool video! Some scenes filmed on Angeles Crest, too! Thanks for that one.
