Eat Sleep Ride app

A 5.5 hour ride I did the other day has produced more than 12,300 data points of location, lean angle, time, speed and other stuff. Google maps freaks out if you try to import it all, but I'm sure there will be a way to save myself from the hours of post-ride map drawing!

Wow! Thats sensational. Please post all 12,300 of these data points so we can share. Big Grin

Too late mate. "I know thy rides, and where thou dwellest".

Cheers, and sleep tight.

I was more concerned about strangers knowing where I lived rather than my forum friends...until I read this.

I think I must be looking for the wrong app. My wife wants to follow where I ride in real time and know if I crash. Any suggestions?

I did install this on both her I-phone 6+ and my android Note 5, created an account for both, created a group ride with her and me but didn't track in real time.

There's an app within the app called Crash(somethingoranother) that should do that. Also there is a device called SPOT Gen3 what will do this as well. I am giving serious consideration to SPOT even with some of it's limitations. Also, Find My iPhone and/or Find My Friends both allow my wife to find where I am at any point during a ride, but obviously do not notify if there's an off. She did text me when she' saw me stopped for a long time, though, but I was just at a Starbucks.

If you login to Android or IPhone device manager, you will natively have this functionality.

I've only had Androids, but if I give my gf my primary Google account password, she can log into Android Device manager on her home PC and track my phone overlaid on Google Maps. It won't show a crash, but as long as there is cell service you can see where the phone is. IPhone is the same, but I don't know the mechanics of it...

+1 for SPOT, I know a couple people who have it and like it.

The feature of EatSleepRide (ESR) that monitors crashes is called CrashLight and you have to pay for it. It sends a message to whoever you nominate if you come off. However, it requires a cell service to do it, so if you come off in the middle of nowhere, it may not work.

On iPhone, as MTC says, use Find my Friends or Find my iPhone, but it won't work across platforms.

offroad ESR claims to have realtime tracking using a beta feature called Geobox. On a computer, go to the website https://eatsleepride.com/ and look in the bottom right hand corner of the screen for the tab that says 'click here for help'. Then click on 'EatSleepRide APP for iOS'. Scroll down through the list of help topics. The last topic is 'Share your location through live tracking'. That gives instructions on how to set it up. You need to be recording your ride for it to work. If you can't get it to work, email them. I found them really helpful.

You'll probably find the same information on their mobile site, but I haven't looked so I don't know where.

My find my friends on Iphone tracks in real time. My wife will be watching where I am riding and open the garage door when I get on our street. I put a thread about it with pictures somewhere on here. Anyhow on iphones its free. Wont show if you crash but will show if the phone stops moving for an extended period of time.
