Road rage incident caught on dash cam
#1
This is a fairly long video, so give it a little time, but you’ll see a black pickup truck intentionally accelerating and then making a lane change into the first of three riders in the left lane of this interstate freeway just south of Denver. We don’t know what precipitated this but hopefully the driver is convicted on attempted murder and finds himself behind bars.

HOLY CRAP

Attempted murder is 100% right. As well as a MASSIVE collection of other charges. Hit that guy with EVERYTHING.

- speeding, reckless driving, leaving the scene with serious injury or death, improper lane change, riding on shoulder, aggravated assault, assault with a deadly weapon, even failure to signal!!

Double the charges as the article mentions a passenger.

Wow. Deserves a life sentence, no bail, no parole, and MASSIVE fines!!

Funny the [url=https://www.9news.com/article/traffic/pickup-slams-motorcycle-interstate-25-castle-pines/73-531c2aef-b4a8-455c-a381-22747304b39d]article mentions "a second person on the motorcycle". For the life of me I can't see one.

It's always hard to know exactly what causes these things in the absence of detailed information, but on its face, it looks an appalling incident of assault. If that's what it was, I'm with LR and PD: an attempted murder charge would be appropriate.

Even if provoked, the charges will still stand.

Doesn't matter if the biker cut him off, flipped him off, threw a beer can at him or slept with his wife. Guy is going away for a long long time.
I really cringed when I watched this video...the rider appears to be in a t-shirt.. cant tell what kind of helmet, but they mention head injury.

OW.

In Japan, if a motorcycle is hit by a car the car driver is assumed at fault, unless proven otherwise. At least that is how it was explained to me while riding there.

From article: "CSP said that the driver of the pickup stayed on scene."

Looks like he had a change of heart because at first he pulls over to far right lane and then speeds away, one of the mc riders appears to give chase. Perhaps that made PU driver realize he wasn't going to get away with it.

Unbelievable! Just goes to show that you can't be too careful. There was a guy around here that shot a teenage girl in the head in a road rage incident. They said she was already dead when her car ran off the road into a tree.

The man on the motorcycle was 54-year-old Quentin Quidley. He was on a bike trip with his brother and two of their friends just passing through Colorado. A tradition for the brothers, one of them said.
Quentin Quidley's little brother, James Quidley, was riding alongside his older brother before the incident. James Quidley said they were coming up fast on another truck, and jumped into the left-hand lane to avoid a crash. That move, he said, forced the driver of the black truck to brake.

The brothers took off, to put some distance between themselves and that driver. But several miles up the road, they saw the black truck cross four lanes to approach them again.

"So we take off a little bit, to get some distance between us. I think it’s all over and we start cruising again," said James Quidley. "About two or three miles down the road, I see him coming up in the right lane. I couldn’t believe he did what he did... To have him come from that right lane and put me and my brother on the shoulder... That was bad enough.
"How we didn’t wreck then is beyond me. Him and my brother had some words. Then he gave a second little swerve, hit my brother’s faring, caused my brother to hit the wall. And I just watched my brother start tumbling in front of me," James Quidley said breaking down.

"Nobody should have to witness that. That is horrific," he said.
As of Monday, Quentin Quidley was still in the ICU.

James Quidley said his brother has five broken ribs, a fractured skull and face, and a broken right ankle from the incident.

CSP said there have not been any arrests made, and nobody has been charged in the incident as of Monday.
A 9NEWS viewer shared dashcam video below that shows the crash: three motorcycles are riding together in the left lane when a black pickup moves across all lanes of traffic from the right lane and swerves into one of the motorcycles. The motorcycle then hits the barrier, loses control and crashes.

Ok - so the bikers were indeed riding like ****** and incited this behavoir.. sounds like they could have caused an accident themselves "coming up on another truck and needing to swerve into left lane to avoid a crash'... cutting off the black truck so he had to hit his brakes...

But still- "there have not been any arrests made, and nobody has been charged in the incident as of Monday." is wrong.

Charge the bikers- yes even the ICU guy, careless, reckless, speeding, whatever... but to hit someone with a truck into a barrier...is still WAAAAY worse.

Ugh. Play stupid games- win stupid prizes. All while wearing a t-shirt at speed.... the world is your cheese grater.
