Jeepers Pterodactyl! Pay attention, will you? See [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3788]here for instructions. Mate, thanks. But FOUR pages! I'll never get through that. Don't worry, that manuals got to be somewhere. Cheers

Do I have to do everything for you? See [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3788&pid=55731#pid55731]this post and the next one. You should be able to figure it out.
But ask if you can't.

No one on the ST board has ever figured out what the foam is for, and I've never needed the allen wrench on the road. Foam sample: Did you ever figure out its use Ferret? - - - Under the seat: Copies of paperwork, spare disposable ear plugs, Honda CB tool kit, bungee cord mesh - 'cause you never know what you'll bring home on your passenger seat, and I think a rag. Worth mentioning: Always carry the CAA (compatible with AAA) membership that includes motorcycle support. Although never used, the towing and extra gasoline is welcomed insurance.

How "small" was this rectangular piece of foam? (trying to base a theory)

Maybe 3" x 4'? Black, not very dense if I remember correctly.
edit # 19 in the parts diagram. Honda calls it a "sponge" lol. We usually called it wonder foam (like wonder what this is for?). You got the bag, a 5 mm allen and the foam. that was it. https://www.partsfish.com/oemparts/a/hon...648d/tools
