Now hold on hear, when I lived in the Bay Area, there was nothing but a crawl across the San Mateo bridge during rush hour.

That depends on the direction of travel.

Clever Randy to live so that you commute in the opposite direction of the rush hour flow.

The CB does a hell of lot better than a lot of other bikes, especially tall, top-heavy ADV, bagger, or touring bikes. The CB is compact, has a low CG, and doesn't have the "sail area" many other bikes do.

Yesterday I learned the answer. We'll recall from physics class that the force required to effect a gyroscope from the plane ninety degrees from rotational increases exponentially as the speed of the gyroscope's rotation increases. What that means is, the faster you go, the more wind it takes to blow you over. Don't slow down for crosswind.

I've noticed the increased stability of speed and the feeling of control when I ride with confidence.

Forgive my being pedantic, Spaceman, but I think you should rephrase that: "When you're breaking wind on your CB, travel quickly."

I will eat a lot of beans and blow past the 112mph limit, so to speak.
