popped over to the New Forest today simply to get myself onto the motorway/highway for the first time (yes, I am a noob).

Lovely sunny, fresh day, although Lyndhurst, the town you pass through, was rammed with holidaymakers already, mostly of the grey variety.

Motorway riding was fine btw, no worries.

Were these taken and uploaded from an iPhone? I have sometimes seen users have this problem.

In any case, one option is to pre-process the images online, or on your local laptop/desktop machine.

The answer seems to be that when presented with a portrait picture straight from an iPhone upload, the forum mechanics turn it into landscape format. However, if you simply load the pic into Paint and save it as a .jpg, then the forum recognise it as a portrait and displays it as as such
