Sorry to hear about Rockin' Robyn's. My girls loved to go there and I loved to take them.

I see you have a beautiful silver Blackbird! I sold mine to help with the purchase of my '13 CB1100. Of all the bikes I've owned through the years, the CBR1100XX is the bike ONE bike I regret selling the most. Damn!! Probably the most perfect motorcycle Honda has ever produced........
and I LOVE my 2013! Thumbs Up Biker

Gorgeous Bike Ferret! Congrats.

Would you happen to know off hand how much more economical the bike is with a 6th gear over just the regular 5 speed? I have never owned a bike with 6 gears before and though I like the idea, the 2013's here will undoubtedly drop hard in price in lieu of having just 5.

So the question is, should I get the 5 or 6 speed? Also, that deluxe seat looks fantastic. Is it much more comfortable than the 12 model regular seat? Thanks again and ride safe!!

Not really sure what you mean by economical. If you mean gas mileage I actually got better gas mileage with the 13 than the 14 due to gearing and weight.

IMO the CB didn't need a 6 th gear. I ride my 14 just like I rode my 13 using only 1-5 on most of the roads I ride, and although the 13s 5 th on the freeway was not objectionable, if you do a lot of freeway riding the 6 th gear will come into it's own there dropping rpms between 400-500 rpms. For freeway work, it's a nice feature.

Some guys really wanted the 6 th gear. I wanted the other stuff that came on the 14. The chrome waterfall headpipes, the 4 into 2 mufflers, the digital gear indicator, the differently shaped and larger capacity fuel tank, the patterned seat, the chrome bar ends, the polished master cylinder covers, the silver motor.

What I also got that came with the deal is a fuel computer and ABS brakes.

To me they are both great motorcycles. I just liked the looks of the 14 better.

Gas mileage was exactly what I meant, thanks for clarifying that! I am surprised that you saved more gas with the 13 over the 14 but as you pointed out, I hadn't thought of gearing and weight.

Have you any videos of yourself riding your bike? Would love to see that.

No, no videos. I'm kind of old school and don't do video. Heck, I had a hard time letting go of my 35 mm film cameras for a digital.
