Sounds like you had a nice break-in day. The buzz at 4000 rpm's is normal. Sweet spots are 3700 or 4500 on a 5 speed your gearing is slightly different.

I'll be back in NY next week and we'll hook up.
Thanks Steve - when you get back we can meet around Greenwich and take Riverside Road North all the way up to Armonk, then Bedford, Salem and onward to the Titicus Reservoir. Excellent back country riding all around there and it is pretty central to where you live and I live.

Beautiful place to ride New England. My wife and I were impressed when we were up there a couple of years ago.

Yeah Imagine that Mick - I had to take a second look and then flip the bike around. New England back country roads are awesome cruising. It's hard to beat it in the Fall when the leaves change.

I used to live in Waccabuc, right across from the Pound Ridge Reservation, and my wife is from Bedford. Really lovely riding. And tons of deer, especially this time of year. Careful!

Love riding through Bedford and Salem. Just saw 6 deer crossing through my yard . . . Cyrus didn't like that at all and barked them away! Might have to get a side car! Big Grin

Day 2
#12

So I figured I would finish this ride report with a day 2 since I found out a few things. I dressed a little warmer today with a ski turtleneck, and left a little later in the morning, letting the temperture rise a bit more. I headed North, but this time I straddled the NY/CT border then up into NY. I was trying to log another 150 miles but failed. I guess I was sore from yesterday. I was able to do 110 so not bad. So what I didnt tell you all about yesterday was the check engine light came on a couple of times. The first time it came on I was do for a refill so I stopped for gas. When I turned the bike back on it was gone. The second time it came on it was directly after I got on it kinda hard. I was almost home so I kept going. I got home and turned it off and then turned it back on and it was gone. I was scratching my head over this. So I kept thinking about all the possibilities and after exhausting all ideas I went to sleep. I awoke around 2am remembering that although I disconnected the o2 sensor and put in the o2 sensor eliminator I had failed to plug up the o2 hole on the Ryujin exhust. So this morning I got a 12mm extra fine thread bolt and screwed it in before my day 2 run. I went 110 miles at all different RPM's and the check engne light never came on. Problem solved!
The second thing I noticed was that when I cracked the throttle hard in first gear the wheel comes right up! The first time it caught me by surprise and my right hand semi slipped but I recovered. The second and third time I was prepared and the front wheel came right up! Aside from that I had another perfect day with my half-way point at the Titicus Resovoiur. I decided to stop for another Photo opp, this time with the sun behind me so the bike got some nice light.

Gotta say this again - this bike has gobs of Torque! Big Grin
