A Quickie for a Pie and a Cold One. 2nd Edition
#1

Touring through the Snowies to PI, days riding the twisties of the Oxley Highway or exploring the dirt roads of our wide brown land, and extended sorties, solo or in groups, to rallies and other events are what you might call the meat of my motorcycling experience. But, day to day, nothing puts more shape in my week than a short ride out for a light lunch. Autumn is, I have to say, my favourite time to savour the experience. So, yesterday, the destination was provided by the St Albans Inn. The journey was made sweet by the the relaxed cruising along the banks of the Hawkesbury River and crossing the river on the Wisemans Ferry, the pace of yesteryear. The spice was added by the twisties of the St Albans Road and the Old Pacific Highway.

A clear, sunny and mild day and a little over 260 kms on Last Blast.

The Truly Great Aussie Meat Pie on a bed of mashed potato, garnished with peas and with a dressing of gravy. The beer was cold, cold, cold.

They say that all good things come to end. Well why “they” say it ,and to what purpose, has got me stumped but a good dose of reality is certainly provided by Sydney peak hour.

Pterodactyl

None of links to your photos has worked. Clicking on them takes you to DropBox which won't let you access them.

Thanks mate, I will try again. It is deceptive because on my devices they show in Preview Post and in the post itself.

Cheers
Can someone please tell me if images are there in the 2nd Edition. Thank you.

Indeed. Good how Nature produces a pie and cool ale at just the right moment. What's the road from St Albans to Wollemi like?

Nice pictures and road report Pterodactyl! Thumbs Up

That meat pie on mash and peas looked good but I'm not sure I'd classify that as a "light lunch". Smile

Seeing those classic Indian motorcycles reminded me of the [url=https://springfieldmuseums.org/galleries/the-esta-manthos-indian-motocycle-collection/]Indian motorcycle museum in Springfield MA. I went there many years ago but now that I'm riding again, I'd like to go back.

That looks like it was a great day out. It's so cool to see photos like these, same bikes, same desires, same enjoyment, similar roads - different continent Smile
