KY 227 south of [url=https://www.google.com/maps/dir/38.5250978,-84.8068278/14358+Georgetown+Rd,+Stamping+Ground,+KY+40379/@38.4614914,-84.7833652,11.71z/data=!4m8!4m7!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x88421a0db66b85fd:0x9d4fc7f14a9d9771!2m2!1d-84.7065925!2d38.3703345]Owenton to the Scott County line. This is one of the curviest roads around here, but there's nowhere to pull off and take a photo of the multiple consecutive esses.

Gear down, throttle up! Thumbs Up

Yeah Gracie's is closed. Sad

Farm House Grill in Owenton is a good substitute, but not open on Sundays.

By the way, a friend told me KY 22 Falmouth to Willow is freshly paved, and I believe he said KY 10 from Willow to Brooksville to Germantown also boasts fresh asphalt.

I can verify Ky 10 from Germantown, theu Brookville down to county line is fresh my son and I rode down there last Sunday. Haven't been on 22 lately as I like the other side better 19 to 62 to 1504 to 165 back to 19 exit on 10 out of Brookville to Maysville or 19 down into Augusta and take the Ferry across the river... A great loop ( another loop I took MTC on when his group came thru one year) No blind rises or blind turns. Have you tried it? 1504 is as good as it gets.

Oh yeah. Can't go wrong in that area. Biker

Edit...missed 1504. Not sure about that one...I may have but don't recall. Good reason to head down there in the near future! "Central Ridge Road"...explains the good sight lines right there!

1504 is hidden gem. It's a half loop road that runs from 62 back to 62 east of Cynthiana and before Mt Olivet, where you turn north on 165 in. Never seen a bike on it that wasn't with me and it just a constant series of banked sweepers for miles, one right after the other.

If you have not ridden it, you owe it to yourself to do so. You WILL thank me.

That road looks pretty appealing on Google Maps, Stichill. So does 1504.

It's actually better to run 227 in the late fall, winter, or early spring when there are no leaves on the vegetation. We have an invasive species of Asian bush honeysuckle in Kentucky that grows thick and close along roadways, which limits visibility in some of the turns. Sometimes the highway department will come along with a ruthlessly violent and destructive articulated bush hog and shred them to bits along with small trees and limbs. Looks like a mess but improves safety quote a bit.

I'm hoping others will post pictures of any fresh asphalt they find on other good motorcycle roads.

Finding fresh asphalt on a motorcycle friendly road is a great find. A couple of years back I was exploring a road between two small towns. Unfortunately it rained about 15 minutes in, and then I ran into a lot of muddy construction. But I kept that road in mind, and the following year was treated to new asphalt and freshly painted lines.

The road runs from Parham, Ontario to Tamworth and changes names three times. There is very little traffic and lots of hills and curves. Unfortunately I don't carry my camera with me and Google Maps have not updated their street view of the road. It has become one of my favourite rides.

Google maps " 1504 Mt Olivet, Kentucky", blow it up, and look at the delicious curves on that road. You can't see the banking on the map however.
